I can't believe it's been a month since I've posted. I've had a busy time working on a charity golf tournament that I run, and getting myself ready for several contests and craft fairs. Just did one at my son's school last week. It was very interesting. I didn't feel like I had nearly enough stuff on my table. But I set up my table and it looked nice and full enough. The event was only from 5:30-7:30 and it was a slow start. There were only about 30 vendors there (4 others selling jewelry as well!) and I think we all had that skeptical look in our eye.
But then the crowds came. And I sold 7 items! And got 3 custom orders (all paid for that night!). And a mom I know booked me to do a birthday party for her daughter's party this summer! Very COOL! I was so excited and it was a very profitable 2 hours at the school, while my son had a blast playing on the moon bounces outside.
My favorite customer was a second grade boy who came to my table with his mom and his older sister and started pointing to items on the table asking "how much is this?" Then he said to his mom, "I have 50 bucks, right?" And his mom said, "no you only have 25. Why are you asking, do you want to get me something for mother's day?" And he said, "Yes, so can I have my 25 bucks.....and go over there....I don't want you to watch me." And that young man proceeded to carefully pick out a beautiful necklace for his mom! What a cutie.
