Margie & Me Challenge - Madrid

It's Margie & Me reveal day!

I was only able to do one of the color palettes for this challenge, and I selected this one:

I think the photo of this building is just so pretty! And truth is, I don't have a whole lot of yellow beads, so I knew this one would be a bigger challenge than the other palette.

So I whipped up a few beaded beads. I started them in solid white, but then I scrapped that idea and added some off-whites to them to reflect the weathered detail in the photo. I made some blue & black disks. And I put them all together with a yellow stone (not sure what this one is!) and some silver disk accents:

Glad to have worked on a piece with colors that I don't normally use. The yellow stones of these came from a bag of broken beaded necklaces someone gave to me because they didn't want them anymore. I always found those stones very pretty but never found a use for them!

In hindsight the only thing I might have done differently - if I'd had the time - is do a set of blue disks & a set of black disks.

And speaking of having time in the last two weeks - the festival I worked on went great! We sold out both days and it seemed attendees and exhibitors were equally happy. Which is my goal as part of the team putting on the show! Here are a couple shots of my girlfriend Angela with some familiar faces from our demonstration stage:

It was a physically and mentally draining weekend, but I'm finally feeling like myself again and ready to launch into my next set of events and projects!

I am also working on my Bead Soup Blog Party pieces! Yes, pieceS! After much thought and a bit of trial and error, I realized I had several ideas brewing for this bead soup!! So I am putting them together like so:

Two of the pieces are complete and I am about a third done with my final piece. Looking forward to the reveal in a couple of weeks!
