A is for Action

I follow about 60 or so blogs. Today someone posted the first of their A-Z Blogging Challenge! So out of curiosity, I clicked on the link regarding this challenge. The link brought me to the sign up page, and I read all about it - it's a challenge where you write a post every day except Sunday, themed by the letter of the alphabet. When I got to the bottom, the Linky tool said "999 entries so're next".....and so .... well.. for a reason I can't really explain, I thought it would be really cool to be entry number 1000! So I signed up! (Plans for the 30 day blog challenge will resume at a later date...or perhaps May 1)

So without further ado I bring you the letter A.

A is for ACTION.
If you have visited my blog, you may have noticed a button called "Help Bring Noor & Ramsay Home." Noor & Ramsay's father, Colin Bower, is an old friend of mine. We haven't been in touch in many many years, but my memories of him are fond ones. His children were kidnapped by their mother almost 2 years ago. I only recently learned about it. I am stunned and heartbroken to say the least. If you click on the button on my sidebar, you will learn all the details. In a nutshell, Colin was awarded full custody of his children after his divorce. During one of their mother's visits she kidnapped them and brought them to her native Egypt with false passports. You can also read Congressman Barney Frank's press release that details the House resolution calling for "the release of children abducted in Massachusetts and being held in Egypt" which was introduced in the House yesterday.

Colin has not sat by passively since the abduction. He has been taking ACTION. His actions are leading to progress. He is actively spreading the word. You can help too. You can take small actions:

Write your congressman...this site is an incredibly easy to navigate site that will determine who is your representative and bring you to a form that will be sent directly to that person. This small action will have BIG impact.

You can "Like" the Help Bring Noor & Ramsay Home Facebook page and follow on Twitter.

Spread the word. Demand attention to this situation.

A is for ACTION. Actions are what will bring these boys back home.

  1. That is one crazy story. I really feel for this guy as one who also was award physical custody of my kids years ago. I fortunately never had any problem like this guy.

Glad to have you in the Challenge.

Contrary to my usual practice of subscribing to comments, to save time during challenge I will not be doing so during April. If you want to respond to my comment , please email me directly from your email notification for the comment.
