Greetings!  I've been doing a bit of traveling the last week or so.

This morning I am at the "E" destination.   And let me tell you - if you haven't been to Niagara Falls, you should definitely go some time.  It absolutely exceeded my expectations - and my son thought it was pretty amazing too!

On our way to seeing the falls yesterday, we stopped in Benezette PA to catch a glimpse of the wild elk herds.  (Who knew!?)  Actually we only saw about 10 all morning.  But it was still pretty neat.

I didn't get a lot of good shots, many of the elk were too far away.  But every time I looked at the series of pictures I took of this grand bull, I was mesmerized by the colors of the fern in the forefront!

Color palette time!

I also rather enjoyed this lone little mushroom we stumbled upon!

In the meanwhile, I brought some beads along with me, and I've been working on my right-angle-weave piece for Therese & Christine's "A Time To Stitch" challenge.   This is just the beginning/base....

I'll be beginning the "F" through "J" destinations of my trip today, and am excited for all the friends and family I will see over the next few days!

And since it's Friday - here is a free flower pattern (for the 2013 Bead It Forward quilt).

   Have a great weekend!

  1. Beautiful pictures, Amy! I love the colors of the ferns. Safe travels!

  2. Amy~I have seen the elk in Benezette a couple times! Elk excite me so much and I am not sure why. In Colorado, we would go see them on Sunday evenings. They would always be in the same field just beyond the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. And hearing them bugle is the neatest sound. When I came to PA and heard there were some in Benezette, I had to see for myself. The first time we only saw 2. The second time, we saw more. Love your little Mushroom shot too! Looks like a really nice journey for you. Enjoy!

  3. Love the pics! And as the Dead would sing, 'Truckin, up to Buffalo....' Been to Niagara once when I was little and it was amazing. When will you be arriving in MA?

  4. Hi Amy,
That is a beautiful picture of the falls, I have never been there. As many times as I have been to PA I have never even heard of the Elk in Benezette, I bet they were a sight to see. Oh boy I can not wait to see what you have created for the challenge. Knowing you it is going to be gorgeous. That is a cute little flower pattern. Have fun and safe travels.

  5. Today was amazing! Thank you so much for the best coffee date! You and Jackson are so amazing! I love the new color palettes!

Thank you for your comments!! They really mean a lot!
