Y is for Yellow

In case you haven't noticed...I've got a thing for color palettes!  Years ago I fell in love with the idea of color theory when I read Beverly Ash Gilbert's book: Beaded Colorways.

I also enjoy color palette generators on line as well.  One of my favorites is Color Scheme Designer, which allows you to pick a color and then get the color scheme for any number of types of wheels including mono, complement, triad, analogic and more!

Yellow is a color I always struggle with.  I don't know why - it's such a lovely color!!!  It's the color of sunflowers, the sun, corn, bananas and HAPPY FACES!

Over the winter I made some earrings that were yellow.  And today I made some palettes on Color Scheme Designer that have some similar qualities!

Do you have a color you struggle with?

  1. None of the pics displayed for some reason. :( I don't like yellow or orange and I use them sparingly unless someone requests them or I know those are their fave colours.

  2. Yellow - too bright - too mustard - too sickly.
