Today I'm

Time for another edition of "Today I'm...", which I saw on Hope's blog a couple months ago and really thought was fun! I'm....

Bookmarking: information on fiber....I got an Artful Fiber kit for Christmas and want to dive in! (this is the exact one!)  ANY TIPS OR TRICKS ARE WELCOME!

Creating: Just finished a pile of quilt squares for the Bead it Forward project. They are in an envelope waiting to get to the post office, and then to Milwaukee!  The patterns are on my Free Pattern page, so please feel free to use them for this wonderful cause! Now I'm just finishing a UFO!

Enjoying: Quieting of my workload.  I've taken on a lot, in the last several months and work became busier than it's been in a while. Between my new work in MA and holding onto a lot of work I had in DC I was starting to burn the candle at both ends.  I'm phasing out most of my DC work and it feels good to focus on what's going on here!

Feeling: Content

Giggling: At my one pup playing under the covers and poking his nose out every once in a while , and the other pup giving me that "why did you ever bring him home" look....(he's practically camouflaged, but his nose is front and center! lol)

Listening: Again, the dogs

Needing: A MacBook....okay, okay - well maybe that should go under the "want" category!!!  Not really needing anything right now! Which is a good thing!

Noticing: The temperature starting to drop again.  Funny that I was thinking how warm 40 felt!

Reading: House of Hades....the latest in the Percy Jackson series, by Rick Riordan.  I am seriously going to read an adult book soon! But it really is enjoyable reading the same books as my son and having the opportunity to discuss them afterward!

Watching: Dexter.  This show is gruesome, but also suspenseful and interesting!

Wearing: Jeans and a turtleneck sweater and cozy, furry slippers (did I mention the temperature's dropping?)

Wishing:  My husband a happy birthday! It's today!

  1. That fibre kit looks cool...but is everything a neutral colour? Are you supposed to dye the fibres? I can't find much about it online at all. You are an amazing beader. I don't know how you can part with those adorable squares. Happy Birthday to your hubby! :D

  2. Sounds like life is good right now!! That's really wonderful, Amy! What does your fiber kit contain? I guess I'm asking what you're supposed to make with it, what form of fiber art. I've done lots as you probably know, so ask away and maybe I can help or point you in the right direction.

  3. Hi Amy,
Sound like life is going along well in MA. I did a little fiber art with a silk scarf and needle felting, but all the fibers were pre dyed it looks like this one is left up to you to decide on the colors. Have fun with it. I shivered and chuckled when you said that 40 degrees was feeling warm to you, but with the temps you have been having I can see why 40 would feel warm. Love the beaded squares, when do you have the time with all of your work obligations, I am in awe. Those puppies must keep a constant smile on your face they are so cute. Stay warm my friend.

  4. Oh, I need to do another one of these too soon!
I'm glad there's not much you NEED right now, but I understand the macbook envy. ;)
So, what is an artful fiber kit anyway? Have fun with it, whatever it is!

Thank you for your comments!! They really mean a lot!
