This week's topic for the Focus on Life photo challenge is "In Your (Their) Hands"....
Back in the beginning of the year, for another topic, I realized I was quite obsessed with taking photos of footprints in the snow....well, as it turns out, I am also obsessed with taking close-ups of people doing things with their hands!! Must be the appealing tactile-ness of all the things I see in my work, day to day. How someone is working hard with their hands to make the final product. I simply couldn't pick just one for this week. From chefs hand-shelling fava beans, to bricklayers adding finishes to the new restaurant, to staff at the farm seeding the crops one seed at a time...I take a LOT of pictures of hands...
I'm totally not comfortable taking pictures of people at all, even if it's just their hands. Landscapes are so much easier for me!
ReplyDeleteLove your hand shots... I actually had a lot to choose from although most have either a glass of wine or beer in them!

ReplyDeleteThat is an inspired album of hands! Great work.
ReplyDeletereally great pics! I love the ones of the chef ... I feel like I can see the expression on his face, even tho you didn't include it - very cool!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific post. Your posts usually make me really hungry and today's is no exception - especially that steak photo! What a nice contrast to the planting photos - from seedling to table, eh?
