There is a business park exactly 12 minutes away from one of my work locations. Some days weather permitting I head over there if I have a 24+ minutes to spare to spend some time in the parking lot, facing this cliff:
Why would I stare at this cliff? This is why:
Located in the circle is one half of a nesting pair of peregrine falcons(falco peregrinus). Seeing one or both of these two is pretty much a 'sure thing' when visiting this business park.
I have visited and seen them about a dozen times but so far I only see them flying to and from and preening on the cliff side.
Other birders I've talked to have seen them successfully hunting along the edge of the parking lot and sometimes they put on quite a show, capturing their prey and flying from light post to light post in the parking lot!
I think this bird is saying, come back tomorrow to see what bird will be featured for the letter "G".
Today's earrings for the A-Z challenge are a pair stitched in a square peyote pattern. At the end of the A-Z challenge I will enter anyone who comments in a drawing to win a week's worth of earrings!
See you tomorrow!
